Dundalk · 6 & 7 June 2026
Following a hugely successful 2025 conference, Left Eire is back at An Táin Arts Centre in Dundalk on 6th and 7th June 2026 for another weekend of ideas, connection, and collective action.
We're bringing together trade unionists, community organisers, academics, artists, and activists from across Ireland for a packed programme covering feminism, housing, militarism, environmental justice, disability rights, protest art, and the future of the Irish left. Expect brilliant speakers, lively debate, live music, and a film screening.
Whether you're a longtime organiser or coming to your first political event, you'll find your people here. Everyone is welcome.
Left Eire 2026 is organised by Dundalk Communities United.
Together, we build power. Together, we build solidarity.

Red Umbrella Éireann is a collective of Irish sex workers and allies campaigning for the decriminalization of sex work, using film to combat stigma, highlight safety, and challenge the punitive "Nordic Model" currently in place.
Live performances

A folk-inspired punk outfit hailing from bandit country, taking their influence from acts such as The Pogues, The Mary Wallopers, Sinead O'Connor, The Dubliners and Gilla Band.
This trio is gaining a reputation in the illustrious Dundalk music scene, and describe in their manifesto how they are "on a mission to make ballads loud, punk catchy and debauchery fashionable again".

Messy Avocado are four self-identified messers based in the Wee County of Louth, Ireland, who don't take themselves too seriously. They are powered by distortion pedals, emotional honesty and whatever energy is left after bedtime routines.
They write loud, raw songs about the ups and downs of being middle-aged females — hormones, motherhood, heartbreak, rage, joy and the occasional existential crisis. Their sound leans into grunge-soaked alt-rock with big hooks, honest lyrics and zero polish where polish isn't needed.
The band: Treasa McCabe (guitar, voice), Sonya Larrigan (drums), Gemma McGowan (keys, voice) and Ina Doyle (bass, voice).

SHAMROCK SHOWBAND are a psychedelic country and Irish band. Jamie Bishop (MUCKNO, Jinx Lennon) on guitar, samplers and synthesizers, Conor McAuley (DUG) on fiddle, and Joel Harkin (Pedal & Lever Society) on pedal steel guitar. They hail from the border counties and are currently based in Belfast.
Their sound is built on a fascination with country and Irish records, old time American fiddle music, sampling and punk. They released their debut self-titled album on Bandcamp in May 2025 and are releasing their sophomore album 'Shankill Road Mission' on June 17th.
